General Underground Driving E-Learning module created for use in Queensland Mines
Updating underground light vehicle competency has long been a challenge for mine management and training teams. Traditional approaches—manuals, PowerPoint presentations, and repeated classroom sessions—often struggle to keep trainees engaged and require significant time from trainer assessors.
To address this, a blended learning solution was developed, incorporating a comprehensive training video and a series of e-learning modules. This allowed new employees to complete foundational training prior to arriving on site, improving preparedness and reducing time spent in classroom-based induction sessions.
Once on site, training is streamlined through a short reinforcement session, followed by a practical driving assessment conducted by a trainer assessor.
This approach improves trainee engagement and knowledge retention while reducing repetitive workload for training personnel, resulting in more effective, efficient, and consistent training outcomes across site operations.
