Recently I created a Sandvik Production drill training suite for the latest i-series rigs introduced to one of our local mines. The process started with a comprehensive risk assessment attended by experienced Drillers, safety/training personnel and technical experts, once complete I put together a suite of documents to ensure that all important aspects of how to operate safely and efficiently on site where covered.

Once these documents where compiled, final revisions were undertaken, and all documents were signed off by management and introduced to the sites document management system.

Early feedback from management and the training Dept. is that the documents are a great improvement on past documents they had been using and had been well received by the trainees. They commented on the extensive use of good quality photos making many of the concepts covered in the training easier for them to grasp.
